Washer dryers – what is reverse action and how does it benefit you?

Top of the range Indesit washer dryers such as the IWDE7145B come with a reverse action function to make laundry easier. I was recently asked what this function is and how it works, so have decided to impart my new-found wisdom to everybody :). I hope it helps.
Basically the reverse action cycle stops your clothes becoming very creased or tangled by spinning in different directions during a single cycle. The drum will spin in a clockwise direction and then reverse, spinning anti clockwise.

So, reverse action stops you having to unravel your washing (tights pose a particular problem in my household) and reduces the amount of ironing necessary. Always welcome!!
